I Prefer To Die In This Moment explores seeing, being seen, and the latent dynamics of eroticism and power that exist just beneath the surface of the audience / performer interaction. Inspired by an infamous series of Calvin Klein television ads from 1995, the piece foregrounds trans presence and probes how violence, desire, and longing are inextricably intertwined.

Created, written, choreographed, and performed by Iris McCloughan.
